Use This Drupal Gallery Module!

If you're looking for a Drupal module that makes image galleries easy for your clients, use Node Gallery. Don't question. Just use it. Makes galleries so much easier, especially when using it with the plupload integration module.

The early Drupal sites I set up have clunky galleries built from the Image module with "batch uploading" being an FTP account on the server along with a complicated instruction sheet on using it all (resize images to ABCxDEF size before uploading, install and use such-and-such client, do this, do that, and blah blah blah). Then there's the whole lightbox integration and overhead, theming problems (for me, anyway), and so on. (Not that you can't use a lightbox-style slideshow with Node Gallery, but I haven't, yet.)

Node Gallery with plupload just makes everything so much easier and eliminates a ton of headaches. Install the modules, download the plupload code, set up a couple of imagecache presets, tweak your CSS, and start building. I've used it on two sites and the non-technical clients love how easy it is.
